Instructions for Parents/Guardians

A vital step in helping your children achieve more is staying informed about their progress at school. One way to achieve this is for schools to tell you how your kids are doing. Now, we can take that idea one step forward and provide you with the means, through technology, to monitor your child’s progress around the clock. The Student Progress Center is available to all parents and guardians of our school district. When parents and teachers work together as partners, learning becomes easier for the kids. Please review and complete the steps to accessing the Student Progress Center as listed below.

Parents/Guardians will need to follow a two-step process for every child they have in the district unless they use the “link” option” that is made available once registration for the first child is established.

  • The first step is to create a user name and password that is unique for each student. This step is done only once.
  • The second step is to use this username and password in order to view the information for that specific student or students.

Step-by-Step Guide: Registering for the Student Progress Center

Step 1: Navigate to the Portal

  1. Open your internet browser (such as Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox).
  2. Go to our website: www.HelixCommunitySchools.org.
  3. In the top navigation menu, click on Parent & Student Resources.
  4. Select your child’s specific school link from the options.
  5. Click on Student Progress Center. You will be redirected to the portal login page.
    • 💡 Tip: Bookmark this portal page or add it to your browser's favorites now! In the future, you can use that bookmark to come directly to this page without needing to visit the main website first.

Step 2: Begin Registration

  1. On the Student Progress Center homepage, click on Register New User.
  2. Please note that all fields on the verification screen are required.

Step 3: Complete Account Verification

Carefully enter the following details to verify your identity in our school system:

  • Relationship: Select your relationship to the student (Mother, Father, etc.).
    • Note: If selecting "Mother" or "Father" gives you an error, try selecting Guardian, as this is sometimes required by system formatting.
  • Last Name: Enter the parent or guardian's last name (not the student's). This must match the last name of the person selected in the relationship field above.
  • PSN (Parent Security Number): Enter the last 5 digits of your student’s Social Security Number.
    • Note: If the system does not recognize this number, please call your child’s school office directly to verify or update the correct code.

Step 4: Create Your Credentials

  1. On the next screen, you will be prompted to create your personal Username and Password.
  2. Set up your security recovery questions. Be sure to pick answers you will easily remember in case you ever need to reset your password.
  3. Click the Submit button.

Congratulations! Your new account has been created.

Step 5: Log In for the First Time

  1. Click Logout to return to the main screen.
  2. You are now ready to log in! Enter the brand-new Username and Password you just created to access your scholar's real-time dashboard.
