Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy names Rhett Butler as director of development for its Corporate Work Study Program

Baton Rouge, La (March 22, 2024) – Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy recently named Rhett Butler as the new director of development for its Corporate Work Study Program. 

In his new role, Butler will be responsible for expanding the program and increasing business and community partnerships. As part of the Work Study program, students in grades 10 through 12 go to work one day a week at a local company or business.

Castille, president and CEO of Helix Community Schools. “His extensive experience and approach to development and community engagement will be invaluable as we continue to expand our Corporate Work Study program and help develop a diverse talent pool.”

With a background spanning more than 17 years in the nonprofit sector, Butler who is a Certified Fundraising Executive brings a wealth of experience and expertise in leading major strategic fundraising campaigns and cultivating donor relations. 

Before joining Helix Mentorship,  he served as the development director at Gardere Community Christian School. He also served as the development director for LSU Alumni Association, Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Foundation, and the E. J. Ourso College of Business. 

Butler has a bachelor’s degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
